2016 SEASON - WHAT WE'RE UP TO AND WHERE

May 1 to May 10 - COLORADO, where we are restoring a curtain at Westminster, giving talks, working with new conservators, and documenting curtains in a dozen sites, including the 1896 Leadville Opera House.  This visit is sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

May 20/21 - DENMARK, MAINE, where there is a 1903 grand drape by L.L. Graham of Brooklyn, NY, that will be installed at Centennial Hall.  The curtain will be conserved and displayed as a wall hanging, due to the loss of its stage.  There will be a talk by Chris Hadsel at 7:00pm on Saturday.

May 24 - READING TOWN HALL, VT, where conservator Suki Fredericks will work with Chris Hadsel and local volunteers to turn the country scene back to front....because there is a wonderful 1976 folk art scene of Reading painted on the back side.  All the blocks of color look like Merimekko fabric of that time.

June 1 - NORTHAMPTON, MA, where conservator MJ Davis, Robert Brier the rigger, and Chris Hadsel will visit the Academy of Music to ponder how to manage a huge opera house curtain that needs conservation.

June 26-30 - REHOBETH, MA, where there is a 1920's curtain in the Carpenter Museum to be conserved.

August 8-18 - NORTHAMPTON, MA, conserve their 1917 grand drape by Maurice Tuttle.  Big job.
